About Me
Let's Create Change
At K.C. Counselling, I am passionate about helping my clients overcome their challenges and find their inner strength, and believe that mental health support is crucial to personal growth. As a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) & CCC, I specialize in helping clients who may be feeling lost, overwhelmed with life, or stuck in comparison with others or where they thought they'd be. I believe that change is possible but also that creating a space to be heard and seen is invaluable in that process and I strive to provide a comfortable, non-judgmental environment for my clients to explore their thoughts and feelings.
My Story
I understand that coming to therapy and sharing personal information can be intimidating so I want to share a bit about myself so you can get a feel for who I am and how I approach counselling.
My name is Kassie Colonna, I am from a small town in B.C., I went to university when I was 18 and I felt like I was doing everything "right" but struggled with where I felt like I belonged- truthfully, I always have. This search led me all over the world; I created lifelong relationships, explored jobs, had success and had a lot of failure. This decade of my life took up most of my twenties, it was wonderful and adventurous but it was also speckled with struggles of isolation, depression, and loss. The strength this period of my life gave me is the ability to be adaptable and connect. I believe everyone is made up of their own experiences and connecting with people based on who they are is a beautiful thing.

This is something I center and pride myself on in my practice- meeting clients where they are at and supporting their growth. Life is messy- and I truly believe that growth should be centred around how we deal with the messy differently, not that we need to not be messy, because that is not realistic. It is a philosophy I use in my life and I find that it alleviates a lot of the weight we often feel around always needing to fix ourselves. You will hear me say this often: no one needs to be fixed, because no one is broken; however, we are all capable of change and have parts of ourselves and our lives that we want to be different and I am here to support and witness that growth.
